King meets Iraqi Planning Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed Jordan's keenness to ensure success to Iraq's reconstruction plans and programs.



During a meeting on Tuesday with Iraqi Planning Mahdi Hafez, King Abdullah said Jordan would pursue its efforts to urge the international community to help rebuild Iraq's national institutions and ease its debt burden.



During the meeting, which was attended by Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Basem Awadallah, the King said Jordan was keen to have all the Iraqis taking part in the upcoming elections and expressed Jordan's full support to preserve Iraq's unity, security and stability.



The Iraqi minister, who is currently on a visit to Jordan, expressed his country's appreciation to Jordan's efforts to drum up support to the Iraqi people. Jordan sets a model for stability, brotherhood and co-existence in the region, Hafez said.



Iraq is determined to go ahead in its plans and programs designed to realize a better future for its people, he added.
