King meets Iraqi Army Chief

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday reiterated Jordan's full support and commitment to help Iraqi people rebuild their institutions and ensure a successful political process in their country.



King Abdullah's remarks were made during a meeting with Iraqi Army Chief General Babaker Zebari.



"Jordan is going ahead with its plans to train and qualify Iraqi police and armed forces," King Abdullah said, expressing Jordan's support for Iraqis' efforts to rebuild civil and security institutions and restore security and stability in their country.



For his part, General Zebari voiced appreciation for Jordan's efforts to help enhance security and stability in Iraq.



The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Khalid Sarayreh.



Jordan has so far trained more than 20,000 Iraqi police forces and 6,000 military personnel. Around 3,000 policemen are currently receiving training in the Kingdom.
