His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who conveyed a letter from Indian President Pratibha Patil.

In the letter, the Indian president commended the bilateral ties, which she said have developed considerably over the past years.

Patil described the recent visit by King Abdullah and Her Majesty Queen Rania to India late last year as an important event that helped further develop relations between the two countries.

King Abdullah and the Indian minister discussed means to build on the successful visit and the meetings between the King and key political and business leaders last year in India.
