King meets General Mufti of Jordan

During a meeting with the general mufti of Jordan, Nooh Al Qudah, His Majesty King Abdullah said it was important to stand against fatwas that run contrary to religious preaching, adding that Muslims should build an integrated society free of intellectual, social and political wrongs.

King Abdullah highlighted the important role of iftaa in addressing challenges facing the region and enhancing the ideal values called for by Islam.

His Majesty affirmed his support for efforts exerted by the Iftaa Department and called for providing it with the needed support to enable it to perform its duties.

The King said it was important to regulate the process of issuing fatwas needed by citizens in their daily life, based on the rules of religion and Islamic Sharia to ensure equality and justice among all.

He also highlighted the role that could be played by the Iftaa Department in providing consultation to various departments.
