King meets Egyptian Foreign Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah received a message from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak on Monday addressing efforts to set the Israel-Palestine peace process in motion.

The message was delivered by Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit at a meeting in which he briefed King Abdullah on the outcome of his recent talks with top US administration officials in Washington.

The discussions focused on how to kick-start negotiations to find a comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict.

At the meeting, King Abdullah emphasised the importance of continued coordination between Jordan and Egypt to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in line with the two-state solution. He underlined the need to develop a unified Arab position to achieve comprehensive peace based on the relevant terms of reference and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, the King's Advisor Ayman Safadi, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and Egyptian Ambassador to Amman Amro Abu Al-Atta attended the meeting.
