King Meets Director of the UNDP

Director of the UN Development Program (UNDP) Mark Malloch Brown conveyed to His Majesty King Abdullah II thanks and appreciation of the Secretary General of the UN Kofi Anan for Jordan's humanitarian role in providing assistance for those injured in the blast at the UN Headquarter in Baghdad recently.



During the meeting, attended by the Minister of Royal Court, the Minister of Planning and the Assistant UN Secretary General for Development Affairs Dr. Rima Khalaf, Brown said that Jordan's cooperation with the UN and its efforts in evacuating the injured and treating
them in the Kingdom's hospitals, reached the heart of the Secretary General of the UN and its staff.



He also noted to the importance of Jordan's role along with the UN towards Iraq and many other humanitarian and international issues.



Brown was briefed by the King on Jordan's vision towards the development in Iraq and Jordan's determination to coordinate with the UN to help Iraqis overcome their sufferings, and enable them to build their homeland.
