King Meets Delegation of American Congress

During his meeting with the delegation of the American Congress on Thursday in Aqaba, His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed the necessity for the United States and the international community to move to support the peace process and to remove the obstacles of the roadmap.



The King also noted to the importance for Israel to take practical
steps towards peace such as putting an end to assassinations and stopping
settlements and separation fence, in order that the Palestinian Prime
Minister can tackle the security file.


The King stressed the important role of the USA in keeping
the peace process alive.


The meeting focused on the situation in Iraq and the efforts
aiming at transferring power to Iraqis.


The King also affirmed that the Iraqis must be enabled to
build their institutions and run their affairs, noting that Jordan's
decision to contribute to training Iraqi policemen comes within the
context of supporting Iraqi people and speeding up reconstruction.
