King meets congressional aides on Middle East peace

His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday met with US congressional aides and reviewed the situation in the Middle East and peacemaking efforts.

King Abdullah said ongoing peace efforts are aimed at achieving comprehensive regional peace on the basis of the two-state solution within a regional context, stressing the role of the US in this regard.

During the meeting, the King reiterated that the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the root cause of instability in the Middle East and a feasible solution to this conflict is a prerequisite for regional peace.

The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Feisal, Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, King's Adviser Ayman Safadi and Director of the General Intelligence Department Lt. General Mohammad Raqqad.
