His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Sunday met a delegation of the British College for Defense Studies.



During the meeting, which was attended by HRH Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein, Commander of the Royal Air Force, the King outlined the current regional situation and efforts to end the cycle of violence in the Palestinian areas through resuming the peace process.



The King also briefed the visiting delegation on Jordan's vision on the future of Iraq, based on the importance of speeding up measures to transform the authority to the Iraqis through forming a national government.



On the other hand, His Majesty King Abdullah II received Executive President of the International Air Transport Association( IATA) Giovanni Bisiganani and reviewed with him the procedures which were taken by Jordan to facilitate the work of the airline companies using Jordanian airports.



The King noted the government's plans designed to improve Queen Alia International Airport, and to make King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba as an open skies airport. The plans also include a draft project to restructure the Civil Aviation Authority with a view to increase air traffic to the Jordanian airports.



During the meeting, which was attended by HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, Royal Court Minister Faisal Fayez, Transport Minister Nadir Thahabi, RJ Director General Samir Majali and IATA Regional Director in Amman Majdi Sabri, Bisiganani expressed his appreciation to King Abdullah's efforts which aim at achieving security and stability in the region. Safety and security are essential factors to increase international air traffic to the region.



Bisiganani pointed that the privatization plan of Royal Jordanian is an important steps to improve services to passengers.
