His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday reiterated Jordan's support for efforts to enhance Iraqi reconciliation.

The King told Massoud Barzani, the leader of Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region, that Kurds play an important role in backing Iraqi security and stability as well as building a better future for the neighbouring country.

Highlighting the historic relations between Arabs and Kurds, King Abdullah called for enhancing these ties to meet the aspirations of both sides.

The King said Jordan continued to support Iraqis at this stage to overcome their difficult circumstances.

His Majesty also added that the Kingdom also seeks to help Iraq restore its vital regional and international role.

Barzani, for his part, praised the King's efforts, saying that Kurds are keen to develop relations with Jordan and other Arab countries.
