His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday met with Chancellor of Austria Christian Kern over bilateral relations and ways to develop them.

The meeting, which took place in New York, tackled several regional issues, especially the latest developments in Syria and international endeavours to reach a political solution that ends the suffering of the Syrian people.

King Abdullah and Kern exchanged views on efforts to combat terrorism, reiterating the importance of unifying all international stakeholders’ efforts and intensifying cooperation and coordination to curb extremism that threatens the entire world, through utilising military and ideological approaches.

The meeting was held on the side-lines of His Majesty’s participation as head of the Jordanian delegation to the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
