King to meet Cameron Tuesday

His Majesty King Abdullah is scheduled to meet Tuesday with British Prime Minister David Cameron to discuss the latest developments in the Arab region.

Efforts to bring about peace in the Middle East as well as bilateral ties and prospects for further cooperation will also be featured in the talks.

The King, who is currently on an official visit to the UK, will also meet with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles to discuss the relations between the UK and Jordan and means to enhance them at all levels.

The King  today will also hold talks with prominent members of the British parliament, focusing on the current situation in the Middle East and Jordan’s political, economic and social reforms.

Speaking to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said the significance of the visit is derived from its timing and content, underscoring the intensive schedule of the visit, which was prepared over the past months. The meetings on the agenda are comprehensive, he said, involving senior officials and prominent figures representing all sectors, including the media and NGOs. Judeh noted that the visit is part of continuous consultations between Jordan and the UK on issues related to the current situation in the Arab world, especially the Palestinian cause.
