King marks Laylat Al Qadr, attends awards ceremony

His Majesty King Abdullah joined worshippers on Thursday night at the King Hussein Mosque in performing taraweeh prayers and prayers marking Laylat Al Qadr, which Muslims celebrate on the eve of Ramadan 27 to mark the anniversary of the revelation of the Quran.
Also Thursday, King Abdullah attended a ceremony held by the Awqaf Ministry to celebrate the winners of the 22nd International Hashemite Contest for Memorising the Holy Quran.
His Majesty honoured the winners of the contest, which featured 100 participants from Jordan and 33 international contestants.
His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein and several senior officials also attended the ceremony and performed prayers at the King Hussein Mosque.
