King leaves for US visit

His Majesty King Abdullah left on Monday for Washington on a working visit during which he will meet with several senior US administration officials.

King Abdullah will also meet with members of the US Senate and the House of Representatives to review Jordanian-American relations and examine means to develop Jordan’s cooperation with the US, in addition to current regional and international developments.

During the visit, the King will also meet with leading figures from the Arab and US Muslim communities.

His Majesty last visited the US in December and met with President Barack Obama over anti-terrorism efforts, the region and bilateral ties.

His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent.
