King leaves for EU tour, private US visit

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday left for the UK, the first leg of an official tour that will also include Norway and Sweden, in addition to a private visit to the US.

During his visit to London, King Abdullah will hold talks with Prime Minister David Cameron and Foreign Secretary William Hague on bilateral ties and the current situation in the Middle East, particularly efforts to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict according to the two-state solution.

In Norway, King Abdullah will meet with King Harald V, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and several officials.

Talks will focus on means to boost bilateral cooperation in addition to discussing current developments in the region and efforts to achieve peace.

In Sweden, King Abdullah and Her Majesty Queen Rania will attend the wedding ceremony of Crown Princess Victoria.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as regent.
