His Majesty King Abdullah, Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Thursday patronised an Armed Forces celebration to mark the 45th anniversary of Al Karama Battle.
Upon arrival at the Martyr's Memorial, King Abdullah was received by a number of royal family members, the Senate president, Lower House speaker, president of the Judicial Council, Royal Court Chief, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the directors of the Public Security, Civil Defense and Gendarmerie departments as well as other senior military and civic officials.
The King reviewed the guard of honour, laid a wreath of flowers at the monument and recited verses from the Holy Koran.
His Majesty reviewed the pictures and names of martyrs inscribed on the monument and the flags of the military units that fought in the 1968 battle.
