His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday joined worshippers at King Hussein Ben Talal Mosque in Amman observing Lailat Al Qadr.

In Jordan and other Muslim countries, the faithful spend most of their time after iftar praying and reciting holy Koran. Thousands spend the entire night in mosques, where they have their sohour meal before they perform fajr (dawn) prayers.

Earlier in the evening, King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, attended an iftar banquet held by Royal Badia Brigade. HRH Prince Ali, the King's Adviser for Tribal Affairs Sharif Fawwaz Zaben, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff General Khaled Sarayreh and senior officers attended the banquet. The King performed the maghreb (sunset) prayers with the attendees.
