His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a telephone call from Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al Abadi.

The phone conversation focused on the latest regional developments, especially anti-terrorism efforts.

King Abdullah renewed Jordan’s support for the Iraqi government’s terror-combating efforts, commending the triumphs the Iraqi forces are achieving in the war against Daesh terror group.

Means to enhance bilateral relations in all fields and reopen the Amman-Baghdad Highway to resume trade movement between the two countries were also discussed.

The highway, a vital trade route in the region, has been closed due to the presence of terrorists in western Iraq, posing a security threat to shipments heading for Iraq by land.
