His Majesty King Abdullah has instructed the government to allocate funding for several projects to upgrade the living conditions of citizens.
In a letter to Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit on Friday, the King said he had issued directives to the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) to start implementing a project to hire civilians to work in the field of construction in coordination with the Labour Ministry and private sector institutions.
The plan seeks to provide unemployed citizens with the skills demanded by the labour market while at the same time alleviating poverty and increasing living standards.
In the letter, King Abdullah also instructed the government to finance programmes to help civil servants join the property ladder.
His Majesty also issued directives to the government to create villages across the country to complete with recreational facilities.
Our belief in the necessity to work to provide citizens with a decent life and bright future requires us to focus on the acceleration of the development process so everyone in the Kingdom yields the fruits of the achievements, the King said in his letter.
