His Majesty King Abdullah II has instructed the government to encourage private investment in Tafeeleh governorate through launching income generating projects that could curb unemployment and poverty in the area.

Easing the effect of poverty and curbing unemployment require a joint effort on part of the government and the private sector, said King Abdullah during a meeting at Raghadan Palace on Tuesday with public figures from Tafeeleh Governorate. The King ordered the government to establish a financing window affiliated to King Abdullah Fund for Development that would allocate money to fund productive projects in Tafeeleh and urged local people to present their ideas and suggestions on successful projects that will be financed by the fund.

During the meeting which was attended by Prime Minister Faisal Fayez and other senior Royal Court officials, King Abdullah said the government was determined to go ahead in the political development process in which all sects of the community could participate.

Enhancing capabilities of the Jordanian armed forces and the security departments is of his priorities, King Abdullah said.

Referring to the situation in the region, particularly in Palestine and Iraq, King Abdullah said his efforts center at present on realizing justice to the Palestinian and Iraqi peoples as well as on confirming the Palestinian people's right.

The King reiterated that the sole solution that could preserve rights of all parties is the one that comes through dialogue and negotiations.

Violence and the use of force can only bring more anarchy and instability and will never bring the desired peace and security, King Abdullah said.
