His Majesty King Abdullah will on Saturday inaugurate the World Economic Forum at the Dead Sea.
The forum, which is hosted by the Kingdom for the sixth time, will convene under the theme: "Economic Growth and Job Creation in the Arab World". Gathering more than 1,000 participants from 50 countries, the event will provide a platform to discuss the repercussions of this year’s historic transformations in the region, and it will conclude with the award ceremony of the King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement.
Participants will discuss the role of Arab civil societies in light of the current social dynamism, models for economic governance, and how it is needed to drive growth. The global and regional economic contraction, the prospects for job opportunities in the Arab world, as well as transparency and accountability, both in political and economic life, will figure high on the agenda. Regional and international cooperation will also be the focus of several sessions.
