His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces on Monday inaugurated the Fifth International Conference of Royal Medical Services.
The conference, held at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Center, is organised in cooperation with the Royal College of Surgeons, Royal College of Physicians, and World Federation of Hemophilia among institutions.
Conference President and Director General of the Royal Medical Services of Jordan Major General Dr. Abdul Latif Wreikat delivered a speech in which he described Jordan as an advanced medical hub at the regional and international levels.
He added that King Abdullah's efforts have put the Kingdom on the international medical and healthcare map.
Following the opening session, the King received the Hussein Medical City Shield 2020.
About 3,500 specialists from 16 countries will discuss over the four-day event issues related to medicine, dentistry, pharmaceutical, nursing, allied medical sciences fields.
The event was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, His Royal Highness Prince Ra'ad bin Zeid, Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Samir Rifai, Senate President Taher Masri, Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, King's Advisor Ayman Safadi, Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communications Nabil Sharif, Minister of Health Nayef Al Fayez, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Meshal Zaben and senior military and civilian officials.
