King inaugurates Crowne Plaza Hotel at Dead Sea

His Majesty King Abdullah, along with His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Sunday inaugurated the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Resort at the Dead Sea, which is owned by the Social Security Corporation (SSC).

Touring the 2,200 bed-hotel, King Abdullah listened to a briefing on the work opportunities provided by the JD100 million investment.

President of the SSC Investment Fund Henry Azzam said the fund's investments in the tourism sector amount to JD350 million.

He added that 800 workers at these facilities are from the local community, while the rest are from different parts of the Kingdom.

Hotel Director Firas Irsheidat said Jordanian labourers at the Crowne Plaza exceed 97 per cent of the total number of workers.
