King inaugurates CDD Rescue and Logistics Support Department

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday inaugurated the Civil Defence Department's (CDD) Rescue and Logistics Support Department in Al Hisa, which will assist CDD units in the southern region during emergency situations.

Constructed on a 50-dunum plot of land, the JD3.5 million new headquarters was provided with qualified staff as well as advanced equipment at a cost of JD10 millon.

The King was briefed on the department's duties and humanitarian services, which aim to achieve higher standards of safety for individuals and property, as well as the CDD's intention to construct a helipad in addition to a maintenance workshop for CDD vehicles and equipment.
