The solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is a two-state solution within a regional context and entails restoring all occupied Syrian and Lebanese territories in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions, His Majesty King Abdullah and Syrian President Bashar Assad agreed Monday.
During a several-hour visit to Syria Monday, King Abdullah and the Syrian President discussed efforts to bring about comprehensive and permanent peace that ends the Arab-Israeli conflict.
The King, who returned to Amman later in the day, also briefed Assad on the outcome of his talks in Washington last month, where he sought renewed efforts to launch serious and effective negotiations to achieve peace in the region.
Discussion underscored the significance of Arab solidarity in coming months to arrive at a unified Arab position to deal with regional issues and common challenges.
Talks also covered means to bolster bilateral relations in different fields, especially the economy.
