His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday paid a brief visit to Oman, during which he and Sultan Qaboos reviewed bilateral ties and regional issues.
Upon arrival, King Abdullah was received by the sultan and several senior officials.
The two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic field, regional developments and several issues of mutual concern.
During the discussions, which continued over a lunch banquet held in honour of the King and the accompanying delegation, the two sides reviewed the latest developments in the Arab arena.
The two countries agreed to continue consultations and coordination vis-à-vis developments in the region in a manner that boosts joint Arab action and serves Arab causes.
On the Kingdom’s bid to join the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), King Abdullah thanked Sultan Qaboos and other leaders at the council for inviting Jordan to join the GCC.
The King was accompanied by Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal and Prince Ghazi, the King’s special adviser and personal envoy.
King Abdullah returned to the Kingdom later on Tuesday.
