His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday held separate talks with Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos on means to bolster ties between Jordan and Spain, developments in the Middle East and European support for the peace process.
In his talks with Moratinos, King Abdullah emphasised the significance of the European Union's support for efforts to bring about a just and comprehensive peace between the Palestinians and Israelis that secures the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially an independent state on their national soil.
The King renewed his call for supporting the Palestinian Authority and improving the living conditions of the Palestinians.
On bilateral ties, King Abdullah stressed the need for further cooperation, particularly in the economic field.
Moratinos briefed the King on his tour, which also included Egypt, the Palestinian territories and Israel, and discussions he held on means to push the peace process forward.
