His Majesty King Abdullah and UAE President Sheikh Khalifa Ben Zayed Al Nahyan discussed on Tuesday recent regional developments and means to bolster bilateral ties and fortify a unified Arab stance.
At the meeting in Al Ain, the King and the UAE leader made clear that they will continue their coordination and consultation, according to a Royal Court statement.
Over the course of discussions, which continued over a lunch banquet, the leaders stressed the importance of strengthening Arab unity in order to be able to face the challenges at hand with a unified Arab position.
The two leaders also discussed efforts to achieve comprehensive and just peace in the region through the two-state solution, saying it is the only solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
During the meeting, attended by top officials on both sides, King Abdullah briefed the Emirati president on US support for the two-state solution, which the King said was made clear to him during a recent visit to the US, where he met with President Barack Obama and top officials.
