King holds talks with Peruvian president

His Majesty King Abdullah met on Tuesday with Peruvian president Alejandro Toledo and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Jordan and Peru.



During the two leaders' meeting at Basman Palace, King Abdullah and Toledo commended the outcome of the recently-held Arab-Latin summit in Brasilia describing the summit an important step towards enhancing the cultural, trade, economic and political ties between both regions.



King Abdullah briefed the Peruvian president on efforts exerted to reach a just and comprehensive peace in the region and end the Arab-Israeli conflict.



His Majesty the King said that establishing a viable Palestinian state living in peace with Israel will enhance development efforts and plans in the region.



On Iraq, His Majesty King Abdullah said that Iraq needs international help to build a stable and secure country.



King Abdullah bestowed Al Nahda Order on Toledo, who presented His Majesty the King with the Sun of Peru Order.
