King holds talks with Kuwaiti emir

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday held talks in Kuwait with Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah that focused on means to boost bilateral relations, as well as regional developments and efforts to achieve peace in the region.

During the meeting, which included an iftar, the two leaders expressed satisfaction with the “strong relations” between the two countries, and expressed keenness to boost joint cooperation, particularly in the sectors of economy, trade and investment.

King Abdullah and Sheikh Sabah also reviewed efforts to relaunch serious peace negotiations to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution and within a regional context, leading to a comprehensive and just peace.

Discussions also covered issues of mutual concern, with two leaders highlighting the need to boost Arab solidarity and joint cooperation to counter challenges facing the Arab world.

The King, who returned home Sunday evening after the several-hour visit to Kuwait, was accompanied by His Royal Highness Prince Feisal, Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, Royal Court Chief Nasser Lozi, King's Adviser on Tribal Affairs Sharif Fawaz Zaben, King's Adviser Ayman Safadi and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh.
