King holds talks with Japanese parliamentarians

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received a delegation of Japanese parliamentarians taking part in the 3rd Arab Japanese Dialogue Forum in Amman

During the meeting, the King commended Jordanian-Japanese ties, saying exchange visits of parliamentarians are a key factor in enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

His Majesty commended Japan's support for the Corridor for Peace and Prosperity initiative, a concept proposed by Japan to bring about peace and prosperity in the region in cooperation with Israelis, Palestinians and Jordanians.

King Abdullah said the plan underlines the importance of coupling and supporting political solutions to address the region's issues with development and economic projects.

During the meeting, the King reiterated that the Palestinian issue is the key to achieving peace and stability in the region.

The King commended Japan's effective role in the peace process and its support for international efforts to realize the aspirations of the region's citizens.

The King also underlined Japan's important role in supporting rebuilding projects in Iraq.
