King holds talks with Bahraini monarch

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday held talks with Bahrain’s King Hamad Ben Isa Al Khalifa covering Jordanian-Bahraini relations and regional issues.

During the talks at Rawda Palace in Manama, both leaders stressed the strong relationship between Jordan and Bahrain and expressed their commitment to strengthening relations in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and their peoples and fosters joint Arab action.

King Abdullah and King Hamad exchanged views on developments on the Arab scene and asserted the need for continued coordination and consultation in this regard to serve Arab causes.

King Abdullah, who returned to Jordan later on Wednesday, expressed hope that the national Bahraini reconciliation succeeds and assists in boosting the drive towards reform and development in the Bahraini kingdom.

King Hamad stressed Bahrain’s total support for Jordan’s bid to join the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and for speeding up the required procedures.

His Royal Highness Prince Feisal, His Royal Highness Prince Hashem and several senior Jordanian officials accompanied the King on the visit.
