King holds a reception ceremony on Prince Hamzah wedding

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday held a reception ceremony in Zahran Palace on the wedding of their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Hamzah Bin Al-Hussein and Princess Noor Hamzah.



The wedding ceremony was attemnded by Queen Fibula of Norway, Queen Sophia of Spain, King Karl Gustaf , Queen Silvia of Sweden, Sultan Haji Hassan Bulqia of Brunei, Crown Prince Philip of Spain, Crown Prince Hakoon of Norway. Crown Prince William Alexander of Holland, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden, Crown Prince Haji El-Muhtedi of Brunei, Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Prince of Ryadh Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Prince Andrew of York, Prince Shehab Tareq Al Saeed of Oman, Sheikh Nasser Ahmad Subah deputizing for Prince Jaber Ahmad Subah of Kuwait, and Lebanese Minister of Defence Mahmoud Hmoud.



Prince Hamzah was born in Amman in 29 March 1980. His Majesty King Abdullah II named him as Crown Prince in 7 February 1999 the day in which the late His Majesty King Hussein passed away.



Prince Hamzah finished elementary school in Amman and later studied in Harrow College the United Kingdom. In 10 December 1999 he graduated from the Royal British Military College ,Sand Hurst, where he got the Sword of Honor, the loftiest appreciation non-British officers could achieve. He also won Prince Saud Bin Abdullah's Award which is granted to non-British officer for the best marks in Academic studies.



Prince Hamzah , who served in the 40th Armored Brigade in the Arab Army, participated in numerous military courses in Jordan, the United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, USA. As a colonel in the Arab Army ,he participated in the Joint Jordanian Emarati force working in the international peace keeping forces in former Yugoslavia.



In September 2001, Prince Hamzah joined an American university for higher education.



Prince Hamzah has got numerous medals from Jordan, Bahrain, Italy, among other countries. He is the Supreme Chairman of Al Al-Beit Foundation for Islamic Thought, and the Honorary President of Jordanian Basketball Union, He chairs The Trustees Council of the Royal Automobile Museum and the Royal Air Sports Club.



Her Royal Highness Princess Noor Hamzah, the smallest daughter of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Asem Bin Nayef and Prince Fayrouzah was born in 6 October 1982 in Amman.
