King holds meetings on sidelines of security conference

His Majesty King Abdullah on Friday held a series of meetings with heads of delegations and officials taking part in Munich Security Conference, currently underway in Germany.

King Abdullah met, separately, with United Nations and Arab League Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura, President of Iraq Kurdistan Region Masoud Barzani and Israeli Defense Minsiter Moshe Ya’alon, where he discussed with them the latest developments in the Middle East and the world.

During these meetings, the King reiterated the importance of supporting the countries affected by the Syrian crisis. The meetings also touched on the dangers of terrorism and terrorist groups, which pose a real threat, not only to the regional security, but also to the global security.

Meanwhile, talks with the Israeli defense minister focused on ways to breathe life into the peace process between the Palestinians and the Israelis.
