King heads to London

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday left for an official visit to the UK, during which he is scheduled to meet top British officials.

On Wednesday, King Abdullah is expected to discuss bilateral ties and recent regional developments, with emphasis on the Syrian crisis, with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Foreign Secretary William Hague.

His Majesty will also meet with members of several UK parliamentary committees and will deliver a lecture at the British Royal College of Defence Studies.

Their Royal Highnesses Prince Feisal and Prince Raad, Chief Chamberlain, saw off the King on Tuesday, along with Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and other senior officials.

Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent during the King's absence.
