His Majesty King Abdullah left on Saturday for the US to head the Jordanian delegation to the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, which will start in New York on September 19.
King Abdullah will deliver an address before the UN General Assembly in which he will highlight his vision regarding developments in the Arab arena, means to achieve peace in the Middle East and several global issues.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the King is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, along with several heads of state and delegations. Talks will focus on bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments.
The King will also participate in the Columbia University World Leaders Forum during which he will deliver a keynote address on the Arab, regional and international conditions before the university’s professors and students.
He will also meet with several economic figures and top executives of leading US and international companies based in New York to examine aspects of cooperation with Jordan, especially in the fields of economy, commerce and investment.
His Royal Highness Prince Hamzah was sworn in as Regent.
