King heads delegation to UN meeting

His Majesty King Abdullah, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania, on Saturday left to New York for a working visit.

King Abdullah heads the Kingdom’s delegation to the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly and other events on the meeting’s margins.

During the session, which will be attended by world leaders and top officials, the King is scheduled to deliver the Kingdom’s speech.

His Majesty is also scheduled to join the Leaders’ Summit on the Global Refugee Crisis, which will be hosted by US President Barak Obama in New York under the patronage of the US, Jordan, Mexico, Canada, Sweden, Germany and Ethiopia.

The summit, at which the King will also deliver a speech, aims at finding more effective measures in dealing with the refugee crises in the world, and their repercussions on refugees and host countries.

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session, His Majesty is scheduled to meet several world leaders, delegation heads and international figures in addition to several economic leaders in New York.

His Royal Highness Prince Feisal was sworn in as Regent before a ministerial commission.
