King heads for Brunei, Singapore

His Majesty King Abdullah headed for the Sultanate of Brunei for the first of two working visits that will also take him to Singapore. In Brunei, King Abdullah is expected to hold talks with Sultan Haji Hassan Bolkiah on bilateral relations, particularly cultural and economic ties. They will also discuss political developments in the Middle East and discuss the substance of Amman Message, which was released by Jordan in November 2004 to help non-Muslims to understand the essence of Islam and to serve as a reminder to Muslim's of Islam's true principles in order to counter extremist manipulations of Islam's teachings.



In Singapore, King Abdullah is expected to hold talks with Singaporean President S. R. Nathan and Prime Minster Lee Hsein Loong, as well as other Singaporean senior officials on means of boosting bilateral relations, particularly economic and trade ties. Singapore's private sector-led national development is considered one of the most successful national development models in the world, and Jordan hopes to benefit from its experience. Jordan and Singapore have a number of bilateral investment agreements, as well as protocols in information technology development fields.



His Royal Highness Prince Feisal Ben Al Hussein has been sworn in as Regent.
