His Majesty King Abdullah on Saturday instructed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Gen. Mashal Al Zaben to take the required and immediate measures to enhance the capabilities of Jordan’s military field hospital in Gaza, “Gaza 21”.

The measures seek to strengthen the ability of “Gaza 21” to carry out its humanitarian mission, provide needed medical services to Palestinians in Gaza, support their steadfastness and alleviate their suffering in light of the Israeli aggression on the Strip.

Since its deployment in January 2009, Gaza 21 has treated more than 920,000 patients and performed more than 16,000 minor and major surgeries.

King Abdullah also instructed the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) to dispatch immediate humanitarian assistance to Gaza.

The JHCO has sent a total of 365 humanitarian convoys to Gaza and the West Bank, which included food items and medical supplies.
