King Follows up evacuation of citizens at the desert highway

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday followed up the operations of evacuation of citizens at the desert road, near Al Wadi al-Abyadh, to save the lives of tens of citizens who were stormed by dust, due to severe winds that led to a car accident and claimed two lives and wounding others.

The evacuation operation were followed up also by Prime Minister Faisal El-Fayez, Interior Minister Sameer Habashneh and Governor of Tafeeleh.

Severe winds caused dust blow, complete loss of vision and besieging vehicles on the road. Two fuel and Benzene carriers and a sedan car collided causing the death of two of the drivers and wounding seven people , who were evacuated to Prince Zeid hospital in Tafeeleh for medical treatment.

Tafeeleh governor Mahmoud Neimat said that the desert road was exposed to severe winds and dust for more than three hours , where the loss of vision lead to besieging more than two hundred vehicles.

The Armed Forces, Civil Defense and Public Security cooperated in the rescue operation, he said.
