His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed that the final settlement for the Palestinian issue is up to the concerned parties.

During his meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister, Ahmad Qureia, on Wednesday at Raghadan Palace, the King briefed the Palestinian official on his efforts to revive the peace process, pointing to his recent contacts with the US administration and his letter to the US President on re-launching peace talks on the base of the UN resolutions and the roadmap.

The King stressed that the Israeli plan to withdraw from Gaza strip should be part of a comprehensive withdrawal as it is stipulated in the roadmap.

During the meeting, which was attended by Prime Minister Faisal Fayez, Minister of the Royal Court Samir Rifai, and Palestinian senior officials, the King said that we will soon exert efforts and contacts to stress that the final status issues of the Palestinian issue should be negotiated by the concerned parties and any other solutions that exclude the Palestinians will not be successful.

For his part, the Palestinian official valued King Abdullah's efforts to support the Palestinian people, calling for an Arab stand to support King Abdullah's vision towards the final status issues of the Palestinian issue.

Qureia also expressed his concern over the escalation of the Israeli violence in the Palestinian lands.
