His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday sent a cable to Indian President Pratibha Patil expressing his sympathies over the loss of life in Wednesday's terrorist attacks.
Gunmen launched attacks against luxury hotels and other targets in Mumbai late Wednesday, taking foreign hostages and killing more than 100 people, according to reports. In the cable, King Abdullah extended his and the Jordanian people's deepest sympathies, stressing his condemnation and denouncement of the cowardly terrorist act.
King Abdullah also reiterated Jordan's support for India in the face of terrorism and expressed the Kingdom's solidarity with the Indian people as the country recovers from the attack.
Terrorism threatens world peace and stability and is thoroughly renounced, regardless of any motive or justification, the King said in the cable.
He also extended his sympathies to the victims' relatives and wished the survivors a speedy recovery.
