His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday expressed his full support for proposals and projects put forward by Madaba youth to overcome challenges facing the governorate.

“We will work to implement development projects as soon as possible, in coordination with the government, especially those related to education, health and youth issues,” King Abdullah said during a meeting with several members of the We are All Jordan Youth Commission, Madaba branch.

The King expressed appreciation for the efforts exerted by the young Madaba representatives, in cooperation with public institutions, to identify and address problems facing their area.

After carrying out field visits and examining their community's needs, Madaba youth commission members compiled a report on the governorate's economic and social conditions.

The Governorate of Madaba, 33 kilometres south of Amman, is home to some 143,000 citizens and several tourist attractions, including the mosaic map of the Holy Land in St. George Church and Mount Nebo.

The study, prepared by 100 youth commission members, emphasized the importance of benefiting from the area's tourist and historical attractions and addressing health sector problems.

The We are All Jordan Youth Commission was formed in 2006 to encourage the younger generation to participate in the decision- making process and help build the country's future.
