King expresses concerns over latest developments in Gaza

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday voiced his concern over the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip and its adverse effect on Palestinians' living conditions.

During a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the King warned that the ongoing developments in the Gaza Strip would intensify the already severe humanitarian suffering of Palestinians.

King Abdullah stressed Jordan's readiness to provide aid to the Palestinian people and to receive assistance from Arab countries and channel them through the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization to the Palestinians.

For his part, President Abbas briefed His Majesty on recent developments in the Gaza Strip.

He expressed concern over the continuing Israeli military escalation against the Palestinians.
