His Majesty King Abdullah II on Thursday discussed with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the latest developments in the region, particularly efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in Gaza, the reconstruction of the enclave, and the swift flow of medical and humanitarian aid to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe triggered by the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip.
During a telephone conversation, the two leaders also discussed diplomatic moves to launch serious and effective negotiations as soon as possible to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution, in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
Talks also centered on ways to strengthen Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties. The King thanked the Kuwaiti emir for his country's efforts in convening a successful Arab Economic, Social and Development Summit.
