His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday received visiting US Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky).

During the meeting, King Abdullah and Senator Paul reviewed regional developments, including Middle East peace efforts and the Syrian crisis.

The King stressed the importance of the US role in backing peace efforts to reach a just and viable solution to the Palestinian issue, on the basis of the two-state solution.

Talks also covered means to boost bilateral cooperation. Discussions focused on the country’s reform drive, parliamentary cooperation and current regional developments.

The meeting was attended by His Majesty’s Office Director Imad Fakhoury, US Ambassador to Jordan Stewart Jones and the accompanying delegation.
