King discusses regional developments with Lavrov

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the latest development in the region.

King Abdullah underscored during the meeting the need to continue regional and international efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis and end the bloodshed there.

Lavrov expressed his country’s appreciation for Jordan’s efforts in providing relief services to Syrian refugees.

His Majesty voiced Jordan’s deep concern over the continuous escalation of violence in Syria and the implications of the situation on regional countries, noting that Jordan is hosting more than 200,000 Syrian refugees.

The King discussed with Lavrov international community efforts to revive the peace process between Palestinians and Israelis.

Also the meeting covered bilateral ties between Jordan and Russia and means to boost them.

Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, His Majesty’s Office Director Imad Fakhoury and the Russian Minister’s accompanying delegation attended the meeting.
