King discusses Mideast with UAE foreign minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday discussed Middle East developments with visiting UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ben Zayed Al Nahyan.

They reviewed efforts to launch serious negotiations to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

King Abdullah said negotiations based on the two-state solution, the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative and other international resolutions and terms of reference, is the way to bring about comprehensive and permanent peace.

The King also underscored the importance of joint Arab action and the development of a unified Arab stance to deal with regional issues and address common challenges. Discussions at the meeting also covered means to foster bilateral ties.
