King discusses Mideast peace with Obama

His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday discussed with US President Barack Obama the latest efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution and within a regional context.

In a phone conversation, the King commended the US president's peace efforts and stressed the urgent need to relaunch serious and effective negotiations to solve the conflict that constitutes the basis of tension in the region.

The King also expressed his keenness to work with the President in supporting efforts that achieve peace and stability.

Both leaders also discussed regional and global issues of mutual concern as well as advancing bilateral relations.
