King discusses Mideast with Israeli premier

His Majesty King Abdullah and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday discussed over the phone efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution, within a regional context.

King Abdullah stressed the need for a solution that achieves lasting and comprehensive security in the region in accordance with the relevant international terms of reference and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative.

The King also underlined the need for intensive work on creating the appropriate atmosphere for the launch of serious and effective negotiations.
